I always cry at the Boston Marathon

I always cry at the Boston Marathon. Even when I am behind the camera, dialed in on capturing a finish line moment you absolutely cannot miss, it’s impossible not to feel the emotional weight of it all. Months or even years of training, all coming down to this one stretch of pavement.

This year I returned to Boston for my second year filming the marathon, creating same-day social content and documenting the elite athletes' journeys. It’s fast-paced, high-intensity work where plans change constantly, and flexibility is essential. Sometimes that even means skipping water breaks so you don’t risk losing your spot on the photo bridge for a bathroom visit.

A highlight this year was working with Boston Marathon legend Kathrine Switzer. It was an honor to shoot with someone who shaped the history of this race.

Captain Isaac Nelson crushed it once again with the E Bike rig, which continues to be my preferred method for filming long take running content.

Every time I come back, I see more familiar faces behind the scenes. The creative and running community that supports this massive event full of great people and I’m grateful to be part of it. Pascale Kanew Ellie Moscati Riley Howland Luke Mortimer Polly Norkett and more!
